Bend at the tip
1) Damage to the lens with dirt
Prevention method: Be cautious and avoid collisions. During the cleaning process, clean the mirror surface with a clean gauze.
2) Nozzle blockage
Prevention method: Use a dedicated cleaning button for cleaning. The dedicated cleaning button cannot be used to operate patients.
3) Bending of rubber needle holes, overlapping, cracking or deformation at the tip bending part
Prevention method: ① The maintenance personnel of the endoscope equipment remind you not to place the endoscope together with other instruments to avoid heavy pressure on other parts; ② Dip a piece of gauze or tissue in the washing solution and start cleaning and wiping from the operating section; ③ Remove the waterproof cap during EVIS endoscopic ethylene oxide sterilization, and wear the ETO cap during other endoscopic ethylene oxide sterilization.
4) Damage to bent pipes
Prevention method: Put a mouth pad on the patient before inserting the endoscope, as the insertion part is long, make sure to confirm in advance that it is not pinched.
Prevention methods: ① The bed side should be cleaned in a timely manner to remove a large amount of mucus; ② Use enzyme cleaning solution to decompose surface proteins; ③ Clean the surface under running water to prevent residual proteins from crystallizing in contact with glutaraldehyde.
2) Damage to the snake tube, damage to the guiding image bundle
Prevention method: ① When rounding the insertion part, the angle should not be less than the diameter indicated in the instruction manual by 12cm; ② During operation, try to straighten the sheath as much as possible; ③ Because the insertion part is long, it is important to confirm in advance that it has not been accidentally clamped.
3) Pinhole for pliers pipeline
Prevention method: ① Be sure to place the tip of the endoscope in a relaxed state to avoid obstruction when inserting the curved part, which may cause damage to the forceps pipeline after forceful passage; ② Wait until the attachment extends out of the pliers pipe mouth before releasing the needle; ③ Close the biopsy forceps and insert and remove them; ④ Use a biopsy forceps without any issues. If there are pinholes in the pliers pipeline that cannot be detected from the appearance, a water leakage test is required. If there are continuous bubbles at the insertion port and inlet/outlet of the pliers pipeline during the leakage testing process, it indicates that the pliers pipeline has pinholes and should not be used again to avoid more serious damage.
1) Remote control button leaking, knob leaking
Prevention method: ① Do not overlap the endoscope and treatment accessories in the pool; ② The correct grip posture can avoid collisions between the control switch and surrounding devices.
2) Wear and tear of the suction port, water dripping at the suction button, and in severe cases, liquid splashing cannot attract properly
Prevention method: Hold your fingers below and then horizontally pull out the attachment.
Light guide plug part
The electrical contact of the light guide plug is oxidized, the electrical connector is corroded, and there is internal liquid ingress
Prevention method: ① When full immersion is required, the ETO cap must be removed first to prevent water from entering the endoscope through the ventilation interface; ② When full immersion is required, a waterproof cap must be worn to prevent immersion of the endoscope.
